Co ordinate: 34°10′12″N / 77°34′48″E
Area: 86,904 square kilometers.
State: Jammu & Kashmir
Largest City: Leh

The most sparsely populated region of Kashmir encircled by two of the world's mightiest mountain ranges- the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram. In geological term, Ladakh is known as the young land which is totally inaccessible from the modern world. Ladakh lies at an altitude from 9000 ft to 25170 feet. The peaks of flurry Mountains on bright mornings part the thick clouds which fly into the skies. Below the skies like a world submerged lies a lost kingdom. Ladakh is the roof of the world opened to tourists only in the last decade. At an awesome altitude, this highland is the bridge between the earth and the sky. Ladakhi culture is similar to Tibetan culture. Ladakhi food has much in common with Tibetan food. The architecture of Ladakh contains Tibetan and Indian influences and monastic architecture reflects a deeply Buddhist approach. The most popular sport in Ladakh now is ice hockey which is played only on natural ice in January.
Motion Trip offers package for Ladakh, the Coldest Desert in the World.
